Copying/Moving/Adding an Activity to an Operation

Copying/Moving/Adding an activity can be accomplished in just a few steps within Assembly Planner.  There are a couple of methods that can be used that are described in steps below.  The first being the method of copying an activity to another operation, the second being the method of moving an activity to another operation, and the third consisting of adding an existing activity to an operation.

How to Copy An Activity to Another Operation

To copy an activity to another operation, follow these steps:

1.When you have the operation open and see the Activity List, left click on the row header of the activity you wish to copy. The row should now be selected.

2.Then right click and select “Move or Copy To…”

4.It is recommended to select "Create New". However, if you want to use the exact same activity in both operations, select “Add as Reference” (this means any change you make to the global properties of this activity will be reflected in both operations).

5.Choose what you want the Act Seq No to be for the copied Activity.

6.Change the options in the "After Copy/Move" section as you wish.

How to Add an Existing Activity to an Operation

Adding an existing activity is an easy task that only requires a few clicks.  It is done differently than the previous two methods above but is still found in the right click menu that shows up when the spreadsheet is right clicked.  To add an existing activity, follow these steps:

1.When you have the operation open and see the Activity List, left click on the spreadsheet.

2.Then right click the spreadsheet and select “Add Existing Activity”.

3.A pop up search window will appear.  Search for the routing and operation containing the existing activity (if needed).

4. Left click on the activity to be added and click add.  This will add this activity to the original operation.
